Nas Connects With Hit-Boy For ‘King’s Disease’ Album

This project I’m equal parts interested in listening to, and apprehensive about listening to, if that makes sense.

There’s no denying Nas‘ position as one of the most legendary and influential rappers ever. However, the most obvious knock on the rapper is his inconsistency with album releases. Recently speaking, his last two releases — the maligned Kanye West-helmed Nasir and the 2019 compilation The Lost Tapes 2 — were… underwhelming at best (I’ll spare you my “at worst” thoughts). So… here we are with his thirteenth studio album, dubbed King’s Disease.

This time handing over the production reins exclusively to Hit-Boy, the 13-track album is led by “Ultra Black” (apparently, Nas’ new BFF Doja Cat is prepping a new song dubbed “N.A.S” in quasi-response to the track).

Meanwhile, the likes of Charlie Wilson, Big Sean, Don Toliver, Lil Durk, Anderson .Paak, Brucie B, Fivio Foreign, A$AP Ferg and are featured throughout. Oh, and let’s not forget Foxy Brown, AZ, and Cormega reuniting as The Firm with a surprise appearance from Dr. Dre.
