It was pretty obvious Meek Mill was going to take the No. 1 spot of the Billboard 200, because he didn’t have much competition outside of Miguel and… Tyga???? Sorry for even trying to joke.
Meek Mill officially sold 246,000 copies of Dreams Worth More Than Money.

TWO-HUNDRED FORTY-SIX THOUSAND. Which is, for those keeping score at home, 2,000 more than his boo-thang Nicki Minaj did during the first week of The Pinkprint‘s release.
According to Billboard, 215,000 of those are traditional sales, and the rest are from streams of the album.
This isn’t a post critiquing his work, but no matter how good or not-so-good you think Meek’s new album is, his fans showed up. His debut album, Dreams & Nightmares, debuted selling 165,000, so it proves his fans stuck with him, in addition to gaining more, throughout his time in jail. Good for him.
Miguel followed up at No. 2 selling 48,000 of Wildheart, and Tyga sold… well, who really cares about how much Tyga sold of the album no one really cares about.
Anyway, congratulations to Meek Mill, and here’s to many more albums like this, I’m sure. *toasts*
