Around this same time last year, Bronx-reared rap group The Legion enlisted producer Beneficence to rework the angles on their early 90s single “Jingle Jangle” off their 1994 LP Theme + Echo = Krill.
After successfully bridging the 22-year gap between now and then, The Legion’s Molecules and D.I.T.C.’s Showbiz are ready to bring things back home where this whole Hip-Hop culture we’re so absorbed with started: The Bronx.
The veteran rapper and producer are gearing up to release their appropriately-titled joint EP A Bronx Tale on Friday, May 19th, an is also a hat tip to the Robert De Niro-helmed film of the same name. Fun fact: Both the single “Jingle Jangle” and the mafia flick were both released in 1993.
To celebrate the upcoming project’s announcement, Cules and Showbiz deliver a video for “Bad Guy” featuring Money Ray. No bright colors, tight jeans and millennial cookie cutter accoutrements involved here; just a straight NYC gutter affair.
