Groovy Q SZN is here.

Once considered to be the hyper-aggressive and nihilistic counterpart to Kendrick Lamar‘s calculated introspection, ScHoolboy Q has since evolved into one of Los Angeles’ most standout emcees.

Equal parts golf-playing hippy and aggressive rhyme slinger, Q’s last studio album–2016’s Blank Face–came before the rapper would have to deal with depression, anxiety and the loss of his close friend Mac Miller. A tragic moment, along with the passing of Nipsey Hussle, that led to a delay in the album’s release. Well, that and the fact that he scrapped three previous versions of the LP–two because “they were trash” (according to Q) and a third after both Kendrick and Jay Rock told him it wasn’t it.

Now, with a new lease on life (and a enviable golf swing, apparently), Q has returned with his third major-label album (and fifth album overall), CrasH Talk.

Equipped with 14 tracks, led by “CHopstix,” “CrasH” and “Numb Numb Juice,” the album comes equipped with a guest list of Travis Scott, 6LACK, Kid Cudi, 21 Savage, Ty Dolla $ign, YG, and Lil Baby. Production is provided by the likes of Sounwave, DJ Dahi, Jake One, and more.
