D’Angelo And The Vanguard’s comeback album, Black Messiah, was one of the best albums of 2014. A critical darling, the band has since embarked on a medley of globe-trotting concert dates, with their latest installment of The Second Coming Tour slated to start in June and a stop at the Outside Lands Festival as well.
Recently, The Vanguard recorded a live mini-concert session at Spotify’s New York office, performing select tracks from Black Messiah (including my favorites, “Really Love” and “Betray My Heart”) as well as a cover of a Prince song. Listen to the brief-but-sweet set below.
