Rae Sremmurd Drop Triple Album: ‘SR3MM,’ ‘SWAECATION’ & ‘JXMTRO’

blame it on Meka May 4, 2018

Let’s be honest: when you heard that Rae Sremmurd were planning to drop a triple album, the first thing you thought was “that’s way too much.” I mean, we can barely get through double-projects in this day and age as is (looking directly at you, CULTURE II), and Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi could be just pushing it. However, each installment comes in at a slim nine tracks each, making them relatively easy to digest.

Inspired by Outkast‘s 2003 diamond-seller, Speakerboxxx / The Love Below, the brothers Brown package up SR3MM, their official follow-up to 2016’s SremmLife 2, with their solo debut projects: SWAECATION and JXMTRO.

The project (projects?) is anchored by a variety of singles—”Preplexing Pegasus,” “Powerglide,” and “Close” for SR3MM; “Brxnks Trunk” and “Chanel” for JXMTRO; and “Hurt to Look” and “Guatemala” for SWAECATION—and boasts contributions from Travis Scott, The Weeknd, Future, Juicy J, Zoë Kravitz, Pharrell, Trouble, Riff 3x, Young Thug, and of course, Mike WiLL Made It.

It’s Lit 5/4 #SREMMLIFE What you excited about the most !?!
