Wow.
After earlier reports that he had been attacked while simply out and enjoying himself, TMZ has reported that XXXTentacion has been murdered in South Florida today (June 18th).
XXXTentacion, née Jahseh Onfroy, was shopping for motorcycles when — as he was leaving the dealer — a masked gunman ran up to his vehicle and shot him while he was inside. According the Broward Co. Sheriff’s Department’s dispatch, witnesses described two males in masks and hoodies fleeing the scene.
Witnesses also told police that a Louis Vuitton bag was taken from the car.
XXXTentacion broke out in 2016 when his debut album, 17, peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Its follow-up, ?, topped the chart earlier this year.
The 2017 XXL Freshman was no stranger to controversy also, notably facing a myriad of felony charges — including false imprisonment, aggravated battery of a pregnant woman and domestic battery by strangulation — stemming from a volatile relationship with his ex-girlfriend in 2016.
He was 20.
After the tragic news started to circulate, J. Cole, Big Sean, Joey Bada$$ and countless other artists shared their thoughts on social media…
This got me fucked up. RIP X. Enormous talent and limitless potential and a strong desire to be a better person. God bless his family, friends and fans.

R.I.P @xxxtentacion No one can be so self-righteous that they are happy when a youth dies. The young still have the capability to reform. God bless the kids. #xxxtentacion
