California is trying to be the leading purveyor of gigantic music festivals in the country, what with the Bay Area’s Outside Lands and Indio’s Coachella attracting thousands upon thousands of concertgoers yearly. However, following the shutterings of Paid Dues and Rock The Bells there hasn’t been a lot of hip hop-centralized mega-concerts in SoCal.
The Hard Summer Music Festival, a normally electronic music-heavy shindig, has slowly been incorporating rap into the festival for a while now, and the 2016 incarnation features a healthy amount of its artists: Ice Cube, DJ Khaled, Anderson .Paak, Baauer, DJ Mustard, Kaytranada, Fat Joe, Ty Dolla $ign, and Lil Uzi Vert.

The two-day festival happens on Saturday, July 30th and Sunday, July 31st, the same weekend as the Scotiabank Toronto Caribbean Carnival Caribana (which is the setting for Drake’s annual OVO Festival). Tickets go on sale April 29th, via TicketMaster.
