With Trap Or Die 3 serving the streets now, Jeezy is doing more than just releasing music.

The philanthropical musician surprised children in Detroit, MI while in town for a promo run, where he spoke to them about what it takes to make it in life, regardless of where they start. He then received the Spirit Of Detroit Award for his continuous work in the community.

“We talk about what it means to be a Detroiter, it means we have a little bit of grit to us, we always look out for our brothers and sisters,” City Councilwoman Janee Ayers said when presenting the award. “He has his Street Dreams Foundation which is something that does good philanthropy things in Atlanta. So the fact that he’s here talking to our kids, that means a lot.”

Jeezy also took to Wendy Williams’ eponymous show to perform “Never Settle,” off of TOD3.
