TDE’s Top Dawg Explains Delay With Ab-Soul’s New Album

Earlier this year, TDE’s Top Dawg vowed a promise to die-hard fans that the powerhouse label would release six, brand new albums before 2016 officially comes to a close, which is quickly approaching.

Out of the six planned releases, we’ve received Kendrick Lamar’s untitled unmastered., ScHoolboy Q’s Blank Face, Isaiah Rashad’s The Sun’s Tirade and the official debut of new signee Lance Skiiiwalker’s Introverted Intuition; with plans for a new project from SZA, Jay Rock’s 90059 follow-up and finally, Ab-Soul‘s DWTW.

The last time Top Dawg checked in with fans on the status of Ab-Soul’s follow-up to These Days…., we were told the album’s final mixes were being turned in, with plans for a release date to follow.

That was in August. Since then, Soul Brother No. 2 has released “Huey Knew” and “Braille” — with no other updates regarding the project’s release schedule.

A couple of days ago, Top Dawg addressed the situation on Twitter in response to a query from a fan, including a follow-up tweet demanding the album be finished soon.

Hopefully this will motivate Soulo and MixedByAli to kick things into high gear so fans can enjoy the highly-anticipated album before Christmas.
