A couple hours before Rick Ross’ Rather You Than Me album officially dropped last week, we found out Rozay would be coming at Birdman with his song “Idols Become Rivals.”
Detailing Baby’s shady business activities that’ve made Ross’ friends like Lil Wayne, Mannie Fresh and DJ Khaled suffer financially, Ross basically stated what everyone else talked about behind curtains but didn’t really call him out for (unless it was in the form of a lawsuit, which Wayne filed against Birdman and Cash Money).
Though he did a pretty good job of explaining his thoughts on the mic, he briefly talked to BET about why enough was enough.
“When you a student and you admire someone from a distance, then you get an opportunity to work with them,” Ross began his thought process of putting the ideas one wax, “then you start to see things you don’t respect or didn’t expect to see. Once you see it become the source to their downfall, it’s really unfortunate. And when you see other solid dudes suffering at the same time, that’s what makes it even worse.”
