While shows like OVO Sound Radio and blonded RADIO get more notoriety, Q-Tip‘s Abstract Radio on Beats 1 is one of the better programs on the Apple Music station. Alongside Tip various other personalities have stopped by for guest sets, like Statik Selektah, Tony Touch and Just Blaze.
Just Blaze’s Abstract Radio takeover in 2015 is still one of the best moments of the show.
This past Friday (June 23rd) Q-Tip used Episode 83 of his show to pay tribute to Mobb Deep’s Prodigy, who passed at the age of 42.
Dedicating a mix to nothing but Mobb Deep, Tip spun as much as he could fit into his two-hour session, playing everything from their cult classics to his collaborations with them, “Temperature’s Rising” and “Drink Away the Pain (Situations).” The entire mix can be heard on-demand on Beats 1 here.
