Back in August it was announced that Kendrick Lamar had parted ways with Reebok and had signed a sneaker deal with Nike. Having been seen wearing various iterations of the Nike Cortez, he took to his Instagram page to reveal perhaps his first collaboration with the sneaker.

Taking a picture of it while taking in Kobe Bryant’s retirement ceremony last night (Dec. 18), The red and white sneaker features Chinese script on the toe area, while a “DON’T TRIP” lace holder streaks down the center of the shoe. Lamar called these the “Cortez Kennys.”

While there is no word when these will be available for public consumption, given Kendrick’s track record these have the possibility to sell out faster than his Reebok kicks.

In related news, K. Dot has been tapped to perform at the halftime show for the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship. Taking place January 8th, 2018, Kendrick will be the first halftime performer ever for the college title game.
