Even before the release of his sophomore album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, Travis Scott has been building up anticipating towards his third album, Astroworld, he even titled the album before releasing BITSM.

Any information regarding Astroworld has been kept under wraps for the most part. Besides the album’s lead single(s), “Watch” with Lil Uzi Vert & Kanye West (“Butterfly Effect” may appear on the album) and a potential tour concept, an amusement park tribute to the AstroWorld, the Houston amusement park that closed in 2005, not much is known about the album.

There have been a number of rumored release dates that have appeared, but all turned out to be false. Yet, the newest date to come up may serve to be more true than false.

Earlier this week a massive golden Travis Scott head appeared at the top of Amoeba Records in Los Angeles and anticipation for the album began increase.

Chase B, Travis Scott’s longtime DJ, also revealed another massive Travis Scott head, this time outside the Houston Astros stadium.

Fast forward a couple days and number of hip hop publications on Twitter began to report that the album would truly see the light of day this Friday, August 3rd. Mike Dean, Travis Scott’s main engineer, even retweeted a tweet with the release date, seemingly confirming the news.

Travis himself has yet to confirm or deny the news, but if true, August 3rd will serve as a major music release day with projects from Mac Miller (Swimming) and YG (Stay Dangerous) slated to drop.

UPDATE: Looks like the rumors this time around were true and Astroworld will see the light of day this Friday. Taking to Twitter, Travis confirmed the August 3rd release along with debuting the album’s trailer. See it below.
