Ice Cube, Janelle Monáe, Flying Lotus & More To Perform At AfroPunk 2016

Since 2005, the AfroPunk Festvial — which began in Brooklyn, but has now expanded to Paris and Atlanta in 2015 — has established itself as a leading New York alternative to its purely rap (Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival) or exorbitantly expensive (Governors Ball) contemporaries. The festival has also become a well-respected ground for eclectic fashion source, as many people have been shot for their colorful street styles.

With artists like Lauryn Hill, D’Angelo, Grace Jones, Danny Brown, Gary Clark, Jr, Jean Grae and a many others having performed throughout the years, the 2016 incarnation promises to bring more of the same to Commodore Barry Park on August 27th-28th. Ice Cube, Janelle Monáe, Flying Lotus, Cee-Lo Green, George Clinton, Thundercat, and several others have been confirmed to rock the proverbial house:
