Drake’s album VIEWS has now sold over four million copies.
After selling a million copies in the first week, it took Drake just six more months to sell three million copies — tons which came from streaming. Drake was the most-streamed artist on Spotify again this year, and he had the first album to hit a billion streams on Apple Music, too. (VIEWS was an Apple Music exclusive for two weeks.)
So now you may understand why VIEWS was recently nominated by the GRAMMYs for Album of the Year. Any album that sells that much this day and age — no matter how good or bad — is going to get a heap of praise from the GRAMMYs.
He now needs six million more in album sales to reach diamond status — something only a handful of people from the rap world have accomplished.
