Danger Mouse Was Nominated For A Golden Globe, & None Of Us Knew It

In between the noise Viola Davis, Tracee Ellis Ross, Moonlight and Donald Glover made during the 2017 Golden Globes, another Black artist also held the distinction of earning a nomination as well: Danger Mouse.

The reclusive producer teamed with influential Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Iggy Pop on “Gold,” the title track for the upcoming film which stars Matthew McConaughey. The song would receive a nomination for Best Original Song, but lost to “City of Stars” from the film La La Land.

Ahead of the film landing stateside on January 27th, the song has been released worldwide. Iggy and Danger previously worked together in 2010 on the Dark Night of the Soul project. “Gold” can be heard below.
