Finally releasing their first album in over seven years, N.E.R.D will triumphantly return with their fifth album No_One Ever Really Dies on December 15th. Following the frenetic ad anarchistic video for “1000” with Future, the group reveals another anticipated track in “Don’t Don’t Do It!” with Kendrick Lamar and Frank Ocean.

Speaking to Beats 1 Radio’s Zane Lowe today (Dec. 13), Pharrell told the host that “Don’t Don’t Do It!” is inspired by the 2016 police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott in Charlotte, North Carolina (naturally, the cop did not have charges filed against him).

P also shared high praise for Frank Ocean during the interview as well. “He is the art of no compromise, no concession, and very colorful with it,” Pharrell said. “And that’s what, I feel like, that’s what is very interesting about his journey. Because if you understand him then, you know anything that he’s ever done is just what he’s really, really, really felt.”

Leading to the project’s release, N.E.R.D also held an intimate listening session for No_One Ever Really Dies for the likes of Justin Timberlake, Diddy, Usher, Cassie and several others.
