One of my career, and life’s, highlights was to be able to work on the final album from Gang Starr, One Of The Best Yet. One of the DopeHouse’s favorite rap projects of 2019, it was led “Family & Loyalty” with J. Cole.

DJ Premier has now shared the first remix from the project, an update of “Bad Name” with Method Man and Redman added to the mix.

“My plan all along was to include and do special remixes after One Of The Best Yet was released and I knew Red & Meth would be perfect for the remix of ‘Bad Name’ and they both really wanted to be a part of this remix for me and Guru,” Premier said. “I did a new arrangement and it’s so dope with Red & Meth putting their spin on it. Meth is the perfect closer and Redman blacks out. He sounds so happy and it comes thru the speakers.”

Gang Starr will also be performing at the Gods Of Rap II Tour, alongside Nas, DMX, The Lox and Just Blaze. Hear the remix for “Bad Name” below.
